Course Overview:
The ITSSAR-accredited VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) Forklift Truck Training course (F Group) delivered by SID Training is provided exclusively on-site at your premises, allowing operators to train using your own equipment within their real working environment.
VNA trucks are specifically designed for use in very narrow aisle warehouse systems, enabling operators to maximise storage capacity while maintaining efficient stock handling. Due to the confined operating space and height involved, this equipment requires a high level of precision, awareness, and control.
This course combines both theoretical knowledge and practical training to ensure operators understand safe operating procedures, workplace responsibilities, and how to minimise risks when working in restricted aisles.
Particular emphasis is placed on accurate positioning, safe travel within guided or free-ranging systems, and maintaining stability when lifting at height. Operators will also learn how to work safely within high-density storage environments and around other warehouse activities.
Pre-use inspections are covered in detail, ensuring operators can identify faults and carry out essential safety checks before operating the equipment.
Training is delivered on the specific type of VNA truck used on your site, and certification will reflect the category and configuration of equipment the operator has been trained on.
Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an ITSSAR-accredited Certificate of Training, recognised across the UK and within the warehousing and logistics industry.
What You Will Learn:
Throughout the course, delegates will develop a strong understanding of:
- Safe operation of VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) trucks
- Operator responsibilities and workplace safety awareness
- Daily pre-use inspections and fault reporting procedures
- Safe manoeuvring within very narrow aisle environments
- Understanding guided rail and wire guidance systems (where applicable)
- Accurate positioning and stacking within high racking systems
- Stability principles when lifting and placing loads at height
- Safe working practices in high-density storage areas
- Working safely around pedestrians and other warehouse activities
- End-of-shift procedures and safe shutdown of equipment
Assessment & Certification:
All candidates will complete both a theoretical test and a practical skills assessment at the end of the course. Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an ITSSAR-accredited Certificate of Training, recognised across the UK and widely accepted within industry.
