On-Site Course Durations:

Novice – Designed for individuals with little or no previous experience.
Duration: Typically 2–4 days depending on the number of delegates and operational requirements.

Experienced Worker – For operatives with relevant practical experience but no formal certification.
Duration: Typically 1–2 days.

Refresher – For qualified operatives who need to update their certification.
Duration: 1 day.

Conversion – For operatives transitioning from another lifting or plant-related role.

Slinger signaller training

Course Overview:

The ITSSAR-accredited Slinger Signaller Training course delivered by SID Training is provided exclusively on-site at your premises, allowing operatives to train within a real working environment using your lifting equipment and site setup where applicable.

Slinger signallers play a vital role within lifting operations, ensuring loads are safely attached, directed, and moved whilst maintaining clear communication with crane and lifting equipment operators.

This course combines both theoretical knowledge and practical training to ensure operatives understand safe slinging techniques, signalling procedures, workplace responsibilities, and how to minimise risks during lifting activities.

Particular emphasis is placed on load security, correct use of lifting accessories, hand signalling, communication methods, and maintaining safe exclusion zones during operations.

Operatives will also develop an understanding of load weight estimation, lifting angles, centre of gravity awareness, and the importance of planning safe lifting activities.

Pre-use inspections of lifting accessories and equipment are covered in detail, ensuring operatives can identify faults, damage, or unsafe equipment before use.

Training is tailored to your operational environment and lifting requirements, ensuring relevance to real site activities and workplace procedures.

Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an ITSSAR-accredited Certificate of Training, recognised across the UK and within construction, industrial, and lifting sectors.
