P Group: Pivot Steer Forklift

 The ITSSAR-accredited Pivot Steer Forklift Truck Training course (P Group) delivered by SID Training is provided exclusively on-site at your premises, allowing operators to train using your own equipment within a real working environment.

Pivot steer forklift trucks are designed to provide excellent manoeuvrability within narrow aisles and confined warehouse environments. Their articulated steering system allows operators to transport and stack loads efficiently whilst maximising available storage space.

This course combines both theoretical knowledge and practical training to ensure operators understand safe operating procedures, workplace responsibilities, and how to minimise risks when operating pivot steer equipment.

Particular emphasis is placed on articulated steering control, safe load handling, manoeuvring within tight warehouse aisles, and maintaining stability whilst travelling and stacking loads at height.

Operators will also develop an understanding of how pivot steer trucks differ from conventional counterbalance forklifts and the additional awareness required when operating within restricted environments.

Pre-use inspections are covered in detail, ensuring operators can identify faults and carry out essential safety checks before operating the equipment.

Training is delivered on the specific type of pivot steer forklift truck used on your site, and certification will reflect the category of equipment the operator has been trained on.

Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an ITSSAR-accredited Certificate of Training, recognised across the UK and within warehouse and logistics sectors.

 Throughout the course, delegates will develop a strong understanding of:

• Safe operation of pivot steer forklift trucks

• Daily pre-use inspections and fault reporting procedures 
• Understanding articulated steering systems and pivot steering control 
• Safe load handling and stability principles

• Accurate load placement and stacking techniques 
• Working safely around pedestrians, racking systems, and workplace hazards 
• Safe operation whilst laden and unladen 
• End-of-shift procedures and safe shutdown of equipment

 All candidates will complete both a theoretical test and a practical skills assessment at the end of the course. Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an ITSSAR-accredited Certificate of Training, recognised across the UK and widely accepted within industry.
