M Group: Multidirectional Forklift

The ITSSAR-accredited Multidirectional Forklift Truck Training course (M Group) delivered by SID Training is provided exclusively on-site at your premises, allowing operators to train using your own equipment within a real working environment.

Multidirectional forklifts are specifically designed to handle long, awkward, and bulky loads such as timber, steel, piping, and sheet materials. Their ability to travel forwards, backwards, and sideways makes them ideal for operations where manoeuvrability within confined areas is essential.

This course combines both theoretical knowledge and practical training to ensure operators understand safe operating procedures, workplace responsibilities, and how to minimise risks when handling specialist loads.

Particular emphasis is placed on load stability, directional control, safe manoeuvring in narrow aisles, and maintaining control when transporting extended materials. Operators will also learn how multidirectional steering systems affect handling characteristics and safe operation.

Pre-use inspections are covered in detail, ensuring operators can identify faults and carry out essential safety checks before operating the equipment.

Training is delivered on the specific type of multidirectional forklift truck used on your site, and certification will reflect the category of equipment the operator has been trained on.

Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an ITSSAR-accredited Certificate of Training, recognised across the UK and within industrial and warehouse sectors.

 Throughout the course, delegates will develop a strong understanding of:

•  Safe operation of multidirectional forklift trucks
• Operator responsibilities and workplace safety awareness
• Daily pre-use inspections and fault reporting procedures
• Understanding multidirectional steering systems and directional controls
• Safe handling of long, bulky, and awkward loads
• Load stability and weight distribution principles
• Safe manoeuvring in narrow aisles and confined working environments
• Travelling safely with extended loads
• Working safely around pedestrians, vehicles, and workplace hazards
• End-of-shift procedures and safe shutdown of equipment 

 All candidates will complete both a theoretical test and a practical skills assessment at the end of the course. Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an ITSSAR-accredited Certificate of Training, recognised across the UK and widely accepted within industry.
