The ITSSAR-accredited Rough Terrain Forklift Training course (J Group) delivered by SID Training is provided exclusively on-site at your premises, allowing operators to train using your own equipment within a real working environment.
This training covers rough terrain masted and telescopic lift trucks, including categories such as J1 (masted) and J3 (telescopic), commonly used on construction sites, agricultural environments, and uneven outdoor terrain.
Rough terrain trucks are designed to operate on challenging surfaces such as mud, gravel, and uneven ground. Due to these conditions, operators must have a strong understanding of machine stability, load handling, and safe manoeuvring in non-standard environments.
The course combines both theoretical knowledge and practical training to ensure operators understand safe operating procedures, workplace responsibilities, and how to minimise risks when working on uneven terrain.
Particular emphasis is placed on stability on slopes, safe load handling across uneven ground, and maintaining control when travelling with loads. Operators will also learn how environmental factors such as ground conditions and gradients can impact safety.
Pre-use inspections are covered in detail, ensuring operators can identify faults and carry out essential safety checks before operating the equipment.
Training is delivered on the specific type of rough terrain truck used on your site, and certification will reflect the category of equipment the operator has been trained on.
Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an ITSSAR-accredited Certificate of Training, recognised across the UK and within construction, agriculture, and industrial sectors.
Throughout the course, delegates will develop a strong understanding of:
All candidates will complete both a theoretical test and a practical skills assessment at the end of the course. Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an ITSSAR-accredited Certificate of Training, recognised across the UK and widely accepted within industry.
At SID Training, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, compliant, and engaging training that puts safety first.
Our goal is to ensure every operator leaves fully competent, confident, and ready to work safely.
Our students have an excellent pass rate on their tests, thanks to our experienced instructors and comprehensive forklift education.
